I have some zigbee devices where I don't know, I guess the battery reporting stinks because it goes from 50% to suddenly dead, nothing in between. The zigbee protocal page will clearly say "24 devices (1 offline)" so obviously the integration knows the device is offline, but is there a way I can write an automation to fire when this happens? The devices I'm having this happen with are Third Reality leak sensors. So when they're dead I'm unaware of potential leaks so it's pretty important I know ASAP so I can replace the batteries.

Yes I have automations that monitor devices and lets me know if unavailable for >5 minutes especially handy for water leak sensors and appliance smart plugs and freezer temp sensors.
Do note that Zigbee official has no indication for offline. So offline is just "I haven't received a message from the device for a while" when it comes to battery powered devices.
But a device that is flagged as offline will have it's entities as unavailable.
Is that the best way? Check for unavailabl?
I would say the only way
