#Dry contact input possibility

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on professionalizing my smart home setup. Currently, I have several multi-gang wall switches (including 6-way push buttons) with Dry Contact (NO) switches integrated into Home Assistant using ESPHome.

While it works, I’m finding the current setup isn’t as stable as I’d like, and I’m ready to move toward a more robust, "set and forget" solution.

My current situation & requirements:

Input Count: I need to support 24 inputs right now, but I want a system that is easily scalable so I can eventually cover my entire home.

The Shelly Dilemma: I looked into the Shelly Plus i4 / Pro i4, but with only 4 inputs per module, the wiring becomes very cluttered—especially for my 6-way button units. It doesn't feel like the right "clean" fit for a high-density setup.

Connectivity: I am open to Zigbee (MQTT) or LAN (Ethernet). Stability is my top priority, so a wired LAN solution is preferred if possible.

Form Factor: Ideally something that handles high-density I/O better than single-channel or 4-channel consumer modules.

Has anyone dealt with a similar volume of dry contacts? Are there specific Ethernet I/O boards, MQTT-based industrial modules, or Zigbee high-density DIN-rail units you would recommend for someone who wants to move away from DIY microcontrollers?

Thanks in advance for the help!
