#Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1 not recognized by HA at all

Hello - after unplugging my ZBT-1 without shutting down my HA instance first (physical Zotac mini PC), HA will no longer recognize the device when plugged back in.

I am also at a loss of how to diagnose/troubleshoot this as log messages seem to be irrelevant for my device. I would just use dmesg if this was a linux machine, but it is clearly some custom setup.

Please help!

@cerulean forge yes, I tried a full hardware reboot. Yes it is bare metal HAOS.

ok, so the system is running linux but its "just enough linux to run home assistant" however you can run dmesg. if you have a keyboard/monitor connected you can type login at the ha-cli interface which will drop you to the system root shell. (typing exit will return you to ha-cli.
at the root shell you can run dmesg and see if its recognising thee device being plugged.

you should also be able to run dmesg in a non-protected terminal from the Advanced SSH & Web Terminal addon (this is not a system shell and is instead from a container but dmesg should still be usable.)

@cerulean forge Ok, I looked at the terminal and dmesg does not show any events when unplugging and plugging the device back in.

Ok, maybe pulling it out toasted it. It doesn't seem like it's being recognized by other systems at all ๐Ÿ˜ญ

#

that is really unfortunate

#

I mean, it's warm to the touch

#

but system is just not seeing it

You could see if it THIS problem?
It may not be but worth checking. If not then maybe its just died ๐Ÿ™

Ah. I thought I had escaped that bug but apparently I am a victim. I noticed the little dent due to overheating. Unit is definitely toast. I purchased July 2024.

Or you can get your money back and buy something like a SLZB-06 ๐Ÿ™‚

I just like the flexibility of the SLZB. USB. PoE/network. Webinterface. Etc.

What's so baffling to me is the fact that it worked for so long only to crap out like a week ago. so odd

#

but yes i would probably replace with a ZBT-2 as well. however i dont have that many devices (only two zigbee) so probably won't even replace with anything at the moment!
