Hi,

We had a power outage yesterday that caused my server to hard shut down yesterday. When it came back up, I wasn't able to connect to HA from my cell phone/the companion app. I am able to connect to HA via the browser on the same iOS device, my laptop, and my iPad.

On the device that won't connect, I'm on the same wifi network as always and trying to connect via the homeassistant.local:port url. I've tried restarting my phone, deleting the companion app and reinstalling it, AND trying to update the server URL to the direct IP-- none of which had any effect.

Probably DNS resolution is failing, replace the homeassistant.local by your Home Assistant IP

Tried that and no change

Does the IP open in iOS Safari?

the IP and the homeassistant.local work in ios safari

(thanks for jumping in so quickly Bruno)

I did, yes

#

I can try it again this afternoon when I'm back at home.

#

also-- is there a way i can get to the companion app settings page without waiting for the connection to fully timeout

oh you are not at home and you are trying to access your homeassistant.local? How does that works? VPN?

no no-- all testing was at home this morning, I'm just posting about it now (i ran out of time this morning)

#

I have zero remote access setup/configured

Got it, since you are using "Most secure" option in settings, double check you have setup the correct network name under Internal URL as well

The network name matches what I'm connected to (and hasn't changed)

Ok, let me know how the testing goes

Will do, much appreciated.
