#Zigbee dongle for large area

It likely depends on your mesh. what type of devices are you planning on having on it?
As long as you have a solid mesh with a number of devices acting as routers spaced around the space then it likely can be done.
Also, Office space can have different building materials (metal framing etc...) than residential so walls may be more blocking which might cause some issues, something to keep in mind.
Lots of metal framing unfortunatly. Right now, I'm shopping around for gear and obviously cost is a factor, so It's looking like zigbee stuff has been the cheapest. Like, I'm looking for light switch covers like the Thirdreality ones an dI'll need like 18 of those, and if I get my way 18 automated blinds. then some smart plugs and smart blubs.
do you have a layout diagram/blueprint? if you have a diagram to scale you could mark where you are likely to have router devices. that way it would be easy to spot any gaps in the mesh. and can plan for devices on either side of walls/doors to help ensure the mesh bridges through them well.
although... realistically wifi devices may end up being an easier solution tbh, because its easy to chuck up another couple of access points as required.
Whilst zigbee might be cheaper in theory it depends how much time and chaos it causes you in the long run...
Are there any wifi based toggles that go over current light swithces like the Thridreality Smart switch? We don't want to have to replace all of the light switches in the office.
or by mesh did you mean our wifi mesh?
by mesh I am talking about the zigbee mesh
shelly make some relays that go behind light switches. the gen4 shelly stuff can also be in wifi or zigbee mode so these actually give you some options. if you wanted to try different ideas.
also, what country are you in? and are there are local commercial wiring regs that you have to keep in mind?
