#New HA installation

it might be doable via a shell_command sensor or something. probably depends on the device.
I would have no idea. you might have to play with it and see what the kernel sees.
I'm very new to this, so i've got no idea where to start
New HA installation
However, I currently am facing another issue, when I was setting everything up, zigbee2mqtt add-on started just fine. Now after installing the Zigbee Home Automation intergration, the z2m add-on doesnt start anymore
you can only use either ZHA OR Z2M. (well unless you have 2 ZigBee coordinators and 2 separate networks... but I guess you don't have that)
Ooohh
Do they do the same?
I thought I had installed both of them on my Pi4 before
you use one or the other. they have slightly different feature sets but they essentially do the same thing...
Okay thanks!
I'll try the ZHA since that one's working now
Is there a way to add existing smart devices to home assistant without pairing all of them again?
it really depends on what exactly you have done. if you created a new network then no. if you did a migration then they should start appearing as they report in. although you might have to "wake up" battery powered devices for this to happen.
My parents have been controlling philips lights and innr smartplugs through the HUE app
I do see the philips hue intergration appearing but it asks for a hue bridge, and i dont recall my parents ever mentioning we have one
hue stuff is zigbee so if it was working before you set up your zigbee network then they are likely connected to a hue hub somewhere which is running its own zigbee network they are paired with.
if you remove that and pair them directly to a home assistant coordinator then the hue app will no longer work.
or you can keep the hue hub and integrate that with HA.
the devices can only be on 1 ZigBee network at a time.
