I will be venturing into the world of bluetooth with just finding out about SendSpin. I was checking out the option on https://esphome.io/projects/?type=bluetooth. I also stumbled on the M5Stack Atom. I am now at that point of I want to make a decision but want to try and avoid many of the gotcha's. I have 2 SLZB-06's. One doing Zigbee and the other doing Matter-Over-Thread. I know it will support Bluetooth as well but not trying to break anything I have already and I kind of like each one doing its own protocol. I also think if I got a 3rd one they might be a little over-priced just for bluetooth from what I am seeing out there for bluetooth proxies. Does anyone have a recommendation on which device to lean towards more heavily out of what I mentioned or if there is something I haven't come across let me know.

Install ready-made projects directly on your device.

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/great-esp32-board-for-an-esphome-bluetooth-proxy/916767/31 - found a great post on this topic. Downside is it doesn't cover what the best is if someone needs wifi.

I see some topics around wifi having some conflicts with bluetooth. So it will be easy for me to get one device with POE after that I would need wifi.

Bluetooth Proxy units are said to work much better on Ethernet (like POE) rather than wi-fi, because BT and wi-fi share bandwidth in 2.4 GHz spectrum. However, Wi-fi can work well for BT Proxy, with attention to parameters in YAML that let both protocols "take turns" in the device. --I've got both variants: a couple POE devices, & some wi-fi, using M5Stack Atom units. I like the M5 AtomU units, because you can just plug them into a wall-hugging flat USB adapter, & put them unobtrusively wherever you have an AC outlet.

Hi, I have a cheap ESP32-WROOM-32 as a Bluetooth proxy with the default configuration and it works great. No issues with WiFi 🙂

Wondering if the SLZB-06 makes a good bluetooh proxy. I will have to search on this also but figured I would put this here incase anyone knows. I haven't committed to anything bluetooth.
