As the title suggests, does anyone know how you change the wifi network a device uses once it is connected and onboarded into LocalTuya? I have a bunch of smart plugs and I need to move them over to a different wifi network. I feel like the answer is going to be to use the Tuya app? Which I really don't want to do unless I absolutely have to because that app is awful.

just different network or new router? if new router, change wifi to old one. that would be easy solution. otherwise use app i guess

for future, avoid tuya

Going from a piece of trash tplink router to a unifi router. I've setup the old wifi temporarily on the unifi router but i want to move them over to a new wifi network with a different vlan on it. I dont want to use the SSID that the iot devices were using on the old router.

so basically new router and new networks

The Tuya app has an "Alternate WiFi" setting deep within the settings for each device, which might work for moving them over without changing local keys. You'll still need to reconfigure the IP address in localtuya though once they are moved over and the old WiFi turned off. I tried this once for a device that had a weak signal to my older router I keep all my Tuya devices on, but I think I ended up re-pairing it in the end. Regarding making the network names the same as someone else suggested, I don't think that works, as the Tuya devices pair using the BSSID of the router (basically the MAC address) not the ESSID.

not looking to keep the ssid the same - wanting to use a new ssid.
