I have my vertical stack pop-up configured with light switch and magnet sensors contained, hash #kitchen. When I go to create another bubble card and select button type, there's no option to create a sub-button for tap action.

I'd suggest updating the card. Looks like you're on v1.7.0. For me, v3.1.0-rc.2 (which I just noticed has an update to v3.1.0 available.)

It's weird. HACS is reporting that V3 is installed but the cards themselves says v1.

I can't find anywhere it may have been previously installed.
