Using a voice assistant in home assistant, I tell it to "set an alarm for 7:00 AM." My AI linked assistant say's, "Got it. Setting an alarm for 7:00 AM tomorrow." Then immediately says, "I'm sorry, but I can't set alarms at the moment. If there's another smart home task I can assist with, let me know."
For a voice assistant, this seems like such a basic task. Just wondering why it's not integrated within Home assistant, or if it is... how to set it up?

Agree. I ended up configuring a script for Assist to set the alarms on Alexa.

I'm not even sure what you mean. One what for me? Make what my own? Even if everyone wants an alarm a bit different there still ought to be a basic default alarm setup and a default tone, etc... What am I missing? Is HA capable of setting alarms via voice assistant and nobody has written the code yet, or is 'alarm clock' setup just out of possibility for HA?

There's @tacit breach with his idea of Alarms in HA. He's making integration, and I guess he'd like a hand.
On the other hand, I made simple on-device alarm for Respeaker device series. It's done in ESPHome, on device. You could make sentence automation, that sets alarm on the device.

BTW, it will have pre-defined sentences which will be plug and play in plan when installing the integration, and LLM support too.

Voice Assistant says it doesn't have access to this file for security reasons.
Okay. I get that, but wouldn't it be just a simple as placing these same alarm & reminder files in a directory the assistant COULD have access to?
Wouldn't that be a simple fix to setting an alarm or reminder via voice command?
