#Matter problems adding devices

I just added the ZBT-2 antenna for a thread/matter network to my HA server, running in a proxmox VM.

for complete picture:
i run a Unifi network on a UCG max, with 2 AP's
i run a single VLAN for my wifi and home network.
i managed to get the thread configured, i think ( OTBR add-on shows the router, thread shows a network, synched the acces from the problem solving tab.
when i try to add my first matter device IKEA Bilresa (but i also ahve some lights laying to install), i get a cannot connect to the threadnetwork.

anything i can check/do to make it work 🙂

You can try using an mdns discovery app on your phone, see if the phone can discover the _meshcop._udp service (that's your thread border router).

#

Make sure you don't have ipv6 disabled in unifi. I've heard several people say that disabling ipv6 in unifi prevented matter from working (despite the fact that the thread border router sets up its own ipv6 subnet - it does not need existing ipv6 provided by the isp or network)

#

Also make sure you have unifi's mdns feature disabled. That feature is for making mdns devices from one vlan discoverable in a different vlan, but it can cause problems with matter.

Eh. I have unifi I have mdns enabled as well as igmp snooping. Definitely make sure your phone is on the wifi.

#

Set the port for my VM as 'multicast router port'

i can find the router on the MDNS scanner, and tried the settings above (i dont know where to disable blocking ipv6 tough, i have added a static ipv6 on the network.

#

while trying stuff, i created a second thread network, and deleted it, but when trying to add a device, it says it cant connect to said (deleted) network, can i purge the cache of my phone for it? i have tried resyncing the acces codes, and set the original network as the preferred one.. should i recreate a new one and try to get everything over to that one?

make the non-deleted network the preferred one in the thread integration's settings.

It is and still not synching to that network

Any suggestions how to delete the old network from my phone, or force the usage of the preffered network?

On thread make sure the correct br is set for credentials hit the three dots to set it

Then go back to companion app troubleshooting and sync thread credentials again

On that page there is a button to dump thread credentials from your phone. 'send thread credentials'. That takes the password all the thread info from Google and gives it to HA

#

Hmm that still didn't clear the Ha-thread-31db entry, as it still tries to connect to that network, even tho the other network is the preffered/only network

#

The picture is in dutch, but you can get enough information, I hope.

#

This is the threadnetwork i can discover on my network, which is the preffered, just not the one it tries to join the device to

I reconfigured the network: it seems that the passtrough to matter does not really work, everything thread looks like it tries to connect to the correct network, but the matter adding seems to happen to the wrong network, not even the most recently created, just stuck on the 31d network

Nobody knows how to manually configure the network it should take?
