How can I do "do you want me to start a timer?"

Have a home system automation that tracks the oven temperature in the oven, target temperature and when the preheating is complete that then triggers a conversation with the voice preview edition that says "Preheating is complete. Do you want me to start a 12-minute timer?"

I want the 12-minute timer to run on The Voice PA so that I can get the visual countdown and the alert at the end.

Is this even possible? I've asked something like this before but I don't think I've really gotten to the bottom of what the answer is.

ta - I've already got a modded version to expose how long are left on the timers, hopefully I can merge these two to solve it all!

THat config makes separate timer, it doesn't expose inbuilt timers...

or alternatively, can you tell from the yaml that if the remote timer runs, it runs the leds etc

I don't think internal timer can be exposed in any reliable way. Because there's no timer in HA manner. It's internal thing, and also one device can run several timers at one time, and they can be in different states (like paused or active), have names etc.

on that yaml - yes, "remote timer" turns on sound and LEDs same way internal timers do.

P.S. with new way of communication between HAvand ESPHome, that will be released today - probably ESPHome will be able to create sensors with attributes - then timers could be exposed as dynamic attributes.
