I have the zbt-2 on HA Green and an Apple TV 4K that I use as a HomeKit (devices bridges from HA). Is there a way to join the atv thread router to the zbt-2 network or will it at least be off if I don’t have any matter over thread devices on it?

It is NOT recommended to mix/match OTBR brands. I would suggest sticking entirely with the Apple TVs.

I don’t even use the Apple TV for anything but a HomeKit hub so I can use apple’s home/away tracking since it’s relatively reliable

Maybe it’s best to just give that up if there’s no way to turn off the thread router and it will cause problems
