I decided to mount the voice PE in my ceiling. I stripped down the unit to just the board. Disconnected the tiny speaker and wired up a decent 4ohm speaker. Then printed a design that lines up the unit to expose the mics and you can still press the button etc. then installed in my ceiling. So much better with a decent speaker. Only need to run at 70% volume to hear it in the whole room easily over ambient noise. Very happy.

this is pretty cool, have you considered uploading the files for the print?
how are you powering it?

Now for a small safety lecture... not to "tell you off" but something for you and others who may copy to consider.

my main concern would be the fire rating:
I will speak for UK regs because that is what I know but other countries may be similar:
in the UK: "where people may be living or inhabiting above" stuff mounting in the ceiling like a downlight/speaker MUST be fire rated (exact rating requirement depends on building).
Some insurance may require specific requirements too, not having this may invalidate insurance etc...
Obviously some devices are hard to build fireproofed (e.g. speakers) THIS is an example of a product that is designed to go into the ceiling and pin to the ceiling. then the device sits inside it (it has cable a passthrough) and it brings it up to fire rating requirements. its designed for speakers but will obviously work with other devices too.

no matter the location or local requirements I would recommend if your putting customised stuff into a ceiling then ensuring it and the ceiling is fire rated. this is not just to protect against the device igniting but is mainly to help slow the spread of other fires between floors in order for people to have a better chance to evacuate safely (and potentially lower property damage).

It’s printed out of ABS and I had an electrician install a power point In the ceiling.

nice if you had it professionally done then I am sure its up to spec for your local regs, but those differ around the world and a fire (unrelated to the device) could move between floors potentially quicker if its less fire rated than the ceiling its in.
Again... I don't want to say that its bad, I think its great. but people should be careful and like you did get a professional to do it if they are not sure.
