Hi experts,

I am struggling.. came to this point where I have a ZBT-2 set-up with OpenThread RPC firmware up and running.
The Matter Server/Thread Integration/OpenThread Border Router is also set-up and running.

However, when I try to add any Matter device (tried IKEAs MYGGSPRAY and BILRESA), nothing is happening before it times out with the error message "Home couldnt establish a connection to the device". (see screenshots)

When I check the protocolls on HA of the Matter Server or the Border Router Addon, I dont see any reaction or ping-pong indicating any incoming connection.

  • everything is up to date
  • Matter node device is in pairing mode
  • Thread Credentials are sent and synced to my HA Companion App on my iphone12
  • IPv6 protocoll is enabled on my fritz.box, iphone and my rPI

I exhausted my options.. went through entire documentation, set-up guides and troubleshooting pointers.
Any info is greatly appreciated

Cheers,
thomas

two QQ, can your phone see the network? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mdns_discovery.app is a usable app
(if not, that is the troubleshooting step)
Is the credentials really refreshed in the keychain?
Worse god damn case - The IKEA devices support MQTT (Woh) https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/1pzvysh/new_ikea_matter_over_thread_devices_might/

(I had similar problem that made me use a whole new phone to connect them)

Holy Maceroni... tried with my Wifes iPhone16 because of what you said and it bloody worked. Flawlessly and without and hiccups or special vodoo. Same steps taken, just a different device.

thanks though for the additional avenue of troubleshooting. will keep that in mind for when I find the motivation to dig deeper on whats actually borken with pairing with my iphone12

thx @timber pine
