Smart Speaker…

I know this has been covered in several ways, but I wanted to ask a specific question about hardware.

I have a couple of esp Wyoming assistants and would like to move towards having them as music assistant speakers for radio and music.

Is this possible with ESP?

My understanding was that I’d need to move to R Pi for the ability to do both.

Long story short, I picked up a Pi Zero W1.1, meant to order the W2, and the w1.1 is under powered for this role.

Streaming wakeword works but it’s maxing out CPU.

Whilst testing shairport, it worked well but sound quality was poor.

Has anyone built something they’re happy with?

So… turns out this was a daft question because Music Assistant can stream to ESP if Home assistant is added as a player provider. Game changing. Turns out I have accidentally built something like the Sat 1!
