#Need smart temp/humidity/air quality sensors. Prefer matter compatible

I am looking for a number (6-10) air sensors that I can add to my home assistant.

Need temperature and humidity and air quality, the more info, the better.

Any suggestions?

POE is possible in my environment, do not want any watch-type batteries if that can be avoided, want to keep the whole area on reusable/rechargeable battery tech.

what specifically are you interested to measure for "air quality"?

#

most sensors which include things like particle count or CO₂ measurement won't be battery powered - it seems like the most common way to power them is via USB (they just do power over usb, communication will be over wifi, thread, bluetooth, etc.)

If you prefer Matter and are ok with Thread, the IKEA ALPSTUGA is probably worth considering. Gives you temperature + humidity + PM2.5 + CO₂, for a pretty reasonable price.

#

if you want something with as many sensors as possible and good integration with HA, I've heard good things about the AirGradient and Apollo Automation air quality monitors.

i think the airgradient website probably does a better job explaining why you'd want to pick one or another of their products… but it basically boils down to "indoor or outdoor"?

Indoor to start.

Apollo takes multiple times of the price

The ALPSTUGA is a little bit weak on the CO₂ sensor, from teardowns and such people seem to think it uses a thermal conductivity type CO₂ sensor. But it should still be better than devices which calculate an estimated CO₂ level based on tVOC.
