Hi, got gifted some smart lights that I have to connect through Tuya (still finding out how to do that as privacy focused as possible)
Well I installed HA on my home server and still am looking to add 2-3 plugs that track energy consumption and another (maybe even wireless?) light switch to have 3-4 different light settings I can easily switch to.
Any ideas on what to get and how to integrate them to HA as smooth as possible? Slightly overwhelmed by the protocols and options :D
THANK YOUUU, AND HAVE A GREAT START TO 2026!

I think your “3-4 different light settings” can map nicely to HA scenes. So you might have “evening time” as a scene with most lights dimmed etc. Then you’d want a button for “setting the scene”. This is all possible.
In terms of protocols I like Zigbee with ZHA. It’s fairly straightforward and IMO worth the slight inconvenience/cost of buying a USB dongle. Not sure what to do with your Tuya lights but they can get you started until you replace them with something better.
For your scene selector I recommend something like a MOES 4 button job, but honestly there’s loads around. Or just use an old phone running the HA app.
for tuya, use hammer
Teehee. 🙂 Yup there’s no way one of those is getting my wifi key.
uhhhm good to know so GU10 zigbee spot led's it is apparently? 😅
- okay if anyone knows good/supportable stores around germany, I'm interested aswell :)
Yeah Ikea Zigbee GU10s are great if you can still find them. I have about 18 in this house.
ikea has some offers> 3x gu10 white spectrum including styrbar remote for 30 euro
Nothing here sadly. This time a fortnight ago you could get 3xGU10s and a Styrar for £7. :/
