#Assign different IP to AdGuard Home

no, but you don't need to. the DNS server it hosts should be accessible on port 53 on your home assistant servers IP address because that addon hooks port 53 and forwards it into the addon by default.
you don't need to add #53 after the IP in your router. if your adding a DNS server then it knows to connect on port 53 because that is the port used for DNS.
I see, but when i do set it to just the ip of my home assistant host, i cant get any ips assigned to any wifi devices
i have a 2nd instance of adguard home running on a pi zero 2 w that i would like to use as a backup and if i set the ip to just that it works fine. but setting itt to home assistant ip it doesnt use adguard at all
exactly what option are you setting in your router? it should only be the dns server that it assigns to dhcp clients.
setting the dns server
without knowing a lot more about the setup i cant really suggest anything but in any case it really does seem to be a network issue and not a home assistant one.
although I should also point out that if you have an adguard server running correctly on another system then you should be able to set up the home assistant integration to connect to that instance. and have the same controls as if it were running on the same system as an addon. the integration does not care where adguard is running it connects to it just the same.
