I managed to add one light, and i can control it.

But all other devices i try to add fail. Tried both more Kajplats lights and a Bilresa remote.

the app on my android tablet says the credentials are ok. But gives a credential error whenever it tries to add anything.

The IOS app managed to add one light, but is now also giving credentials errors.

I can fully control the one light i managed to add.

Based on the iOS message there must be something wrong with your thread network, for starters I would:
1 - Reboot Home Assistant (not restart, reboot)
2 - Reboot your phone
3 - Try again

The error you see means that for the given credentials provided by Home Assistant, iOS could not find any thread network nearby that accepts them.

Hm havent tried rebooting the phone. Ill give that a go

#

iv rebooted my truenas vm multiple times, and it has no issue controlleing the one light i got conencted

#

hm, for the hell of it ill reboot the entire truenas server aswell.

Whats your thread antenna?

#

using usb passthrough in truenas to the HAOS VM.

#

Thats an indication that must be something wrong in your Home Assistant server itself, not the Apps, do you have many matter over thread devices already? otherwise you could nuke and start over

#

(Not the best solution, just trying to help you out quickly)

weak sail
#

its a brand new setup, first light paied fine

#

rest not so much 😅

dull wharf
#

damn.. Ok, perhaps when you open the issue in GitHub someone with more knowldge from the matter side can help out then, but send me the logs so I can guarantee it is nothing in the app

Will do, currently booting everything up again. got about an hour before i have to head of.

#

Is there any prefererance to if i should use the android tablet or my phone?

I am an iOS dev, so.. for me to help you it would need to be over an iPhone, but in theory if the App starts the flow it should succeed, no matter the platform

#

full restarts didn't help, logs sent in pm

#

ill have to see if i get the time to post a git issue later tonight when i get home again.

#

Log is from me trying to pair a remote 10cm from my phone with the qr code, and me controlling the thread light that is conencted to the network.

#

When you succeeded comissioning the device was around 12:20?

#

I sent you a DM as well with some private info I found on your logs

weak sail
#

12:20 sounds about right for the pairing

#

Somewhere between 12:14 and 12:19 according to my discord timestamps when i was talking to a guy at work that already has a bunch of ikea thread devices.

In your logs it indeed finds the network correctly at that time but then it can't find it anymore, follow what I sent you via DM, probably there is something mismatching from what Home Assistant is providing as information to iOS App

weak sail
#

Probably to the android app aswell as that also complains on credentials.

ill make sure to get the issue created tonight, if i dont get home to late tonight.

Just updating this thread with a link to the git ticket, and updated the ticket.
https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/159655

I have managed to get 24 devices connected, but it was s a royal pita to get it to pair them.
23 have been paired through the ios app with credentials errors, and one with the android app.
Both refuse to connect my last 2 lights and a few switches.
And HA is now giving credentials errors when trying to sync the credentials with a second ios device, saying they dont match any active thread network.

But i can control my thread lights just fine. and its getting readings every 5 minutes from my thread Alpstuga CO2 meter.
This should perhaps be closed to moved to #1284966582375813201 ?

Is there any way to connect a thread device directly through HAOS?
I have a old asus usb bluetooth dongle i can connect to it.
Just to fully eliminate everything companion related?
