Hello,

I've added the switch, but only seeing the On/Off option?

-> Where/how can I get debug needed to understand what is published or queryable? (in details please, from the matter server / HA directly ... )
-> If possible, can i extend the current configuration to add the support?

I'm willing to do the development if someone can help me get the details before my return period is up 😉

thank you!

tp-link smarthome stuff is mass advertised and priced competitively but causes a bunch of problems. best to avoid kasa/tapo in the future.

#

to be fair they are not the only company doing the limited matter support thing with wifi devices. but they pull so much other shit that makes them problematic.

@empty prawn - I got ya, they are returnable 😉 and likly will then ... just to confirm what is see is everything? right? ... no additional debug that or config that would 'add' the extrra bit ?

#

@empty prawn - would you happen to know or have a device simmial (ac power monitoring, outlet) that you may recommend?

shelly just recent a new gen4 version of their plug for North America I believe. it supports multiple protocols. so you can use it as wifi (including matter) or zigbee.

Athom also have a bunch of wifi based plugs for various countries that run on opensource firmware. they have both ESPHome or Tasmota flavours available.
also Athom have a version with no relay (therefore no switching). so if you are wanting to track an appliance or something else with an inductive load you can use this without the dangers of running an inductive load though a relay.

FYI:
[TP-Link Support]-[TKID**125***] KP100(沃尔玛版HS105) V1 KP125MP2 - Missing 'Energy Monitoring' ouput over Matter
...

Regarding the KP125MP2, this product does not currently support Matter energy monitoring.
And for this, KP125MP2 is Matter-certified, and we have always communicated Matter certification and energy monitoring as separate features.

... 🥶

Once they update the firmware to correctly publish the "energy monitoring" i would consider buying them again at the sale price I did... seems well built "on/off" (matter - wifi ) device.

I would like to think, each tech ticket is a kick to the team to fix an issue . . . (working in eng support myself) . . . fix what we can ...

#
  • returning items .. shows they lost $$$ the easly could have made with a firmware update ...
