Context:
I am using the Z-Wave JS UI add-on and I have over 100 Zooz switches (e.g. Zen77 S2 Dimmer) for every switch in my new home.

I want to use z-wave direct association for all my 3+ way switches/remotes.

For example, switch A actually controls the light/load/line). Switch B needs to act like a remote (3-way) such that any time someone touches Switch B it’s as though they touched Switch A.

Could someone please explain (in detail) how I set that up using z-wave JS UI?

You go to the association settings for the switch you want to use to control the other switch. Find the correct association group for your use case. For example, the ZEN77 S2 Dimmer has the following ones:

#

You'd use Group 2 to control another switch, and Group 3 to control another dimmer. Add the device you want to control to that list. In general, if a group uses Basic Set, you can control anything. More specific CCs like Binary Switch and Multilevel Switch can only be used to control devices that support that CC.

#

Which groups exist, how they are called and what they do depend on the actual device, sometimes its firmware version or hardware revision.

#

You can also use that functionality to link two switches on different circuits. Just add each switch to the other's association groups.
