#Cannot add some power sensors to the power chart.

I've read the note in the UI about: sensors can't be added because maybe they are disallowed in the long term statistics, but I've quite a few that appear ok in the stats but I still cannot add them to the power data.

How can I debug this? The one I am chasing right now is a power measurement, (unit = W), from a zigbee2mqtt device. It's energy measurement is in the energy dashboard, but I cannot add its power sensor.

does the entity have device_class ?

gusty latch
#

where can I see its class?

craggy aurora
#

it's an entity attribute, so developer-tools/states

gusty latch
#

device class = power

craggy aurora
#

sounds correct

#

To check further please add:

  • screenshot of entity attributes
  • screenshot of entity more-info (w/ the graph)
  • Energy diagnostics json (top right corner of config/energy page)

I know its name is slightly confusing

#

is that sensor listed in developer-tools/statistics, any issue reported?

gusty latch
#

yes, no issue

craggy aurora
#

for more info I meant this screen:

It shows up there with "5-minute aggregate"?

Hm yeah that's everything I can think of, everything seems ok 🤷

#

Are you trying to pair it with hot_water_energy_energy?

gusty latch
#

correct

craggy aurora
#

hmm I guess maybe I'd try close the browser and reload it just to be sure, but I can't think of any other excluding factors

gusty latch
#

oh wait - I remember now, not directly with that device, there's an integration helper because the device doesn't correctly show energy - is that the cause of the problem?

craggy aurora
#

I wouldn't see how that could be an issue, but maybe you can elaborate a bit what you mean.

gusty latch
#

actually this is not true, but for some reason I cannot add sensor.hot_water_energy_energy to the individual energy list either

craggy aurora
#

it's already in there

gusty latch
#

I removed it

#

and now try to add back

#

I think the sensor that was there before was not the correct one

#

something strange here

craggy aurora
#

Go turn this on:

(user profile)

gusty latch
#

something wrong here, I think maybe to delete this device and re-add it from zigbee2mqtt

#

actually those two energy sensors have different id

#

Aha! Thanks for the show ID tip:

craggy aurora
#

man you got a mess there 😂

#

anyway, seems like it's working now?

gusty latch
#

yep, tyvm
