IKEA Matter devices and ZBT-2

I have a HA Green and ZBT-2 set up as a Thread Border Router. Recently purchased 3 of IKEA's new Matter devices (BILRESA 2 button switch, MYGGBETT door contact sensor, and the MYGGSPRAY motion sensor). I add the devices through HA and with each device I get "Your device requires a Thread Border Router".

I've been able to add smart plugs and switches from TP Link using this method. HA OS is 16.3 and ZBT-2 is on OpenThread RCP 2.4.4.0.

Any ideas what I could possibly troubleshoot?

the tp-link devices use wifi, not thread.

it sounds like you might have missed step 3 of https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread#to-make-home-assistant-your-first-thread-network which sets up your phone to know about the thread network.
