The w/wo display depends on your needs, I use Zigbee Aqara WSDCGQ11LM Temp/Humidity sensors (no display), batteries have been original CR2032 for around 2 years at this point
yeah, zigbee is the general go-to for this type of sensor. there's a variety available at reasonable prices, with or without display, and the battery will last a long time. Some are powered by coin cells, a few vendors have devices which run on AAA instead.
