So I had an esphome device that I might have connected to my HA, but then certainly removed it from HA, and got rid of any entities from it, etc.. I then used that device for something completely different. When I go to HA to add the device, it lists it using it's old name.
If I add it, will it figure out that it's something else entirely ?

yeah it might still have the old name stored in the database along with the MAC address which is how its recognising it. you can always rename it and reset entity names aftering adding it if theres any problems.

I added it, and I don't see any trace of the old name any more. All good I guess.
If new, additional, entities are added to the device, will it pick them up or will I have to delete/re-add the device ?
