Can't get new IKEA matter devices to commission | Home Assistant | Page 1

Hello,

I have a ZBT-2 and I have had HA configure it for matter, I think I have everything installed (thread & OTBR) & I have shared the key with my phone.

I have just bought my first matter&thread devices (ikeas new smart home stuff) but it fails to commission any of them via the companion app - I dont have any other matter devices to test commissioning with.

When I try to commission the devices i get the error "Unable to Add Accessory Pairing Failed".

It must be that I have something not configured incorrectly but I have no idea what - Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Update:
I have just tried to commission the ikea devices to my apple tv via homekit and I am getting the same error so this might be some kind of iOS issue possibly

I am on iOS 26.1

Just tried it with an iOS 18 device, it worked and was able to commission a device to HA. I've googled and this doesn't appear to be a known issue with iOS 26.1 - very peculiar

Which one(s) failed under iOS 26.1? I have a brand spanking new delivery sitting next to me of one of every device other than the contact sensor

Although I would only be able to test wth 26.2 since I just upgraded

Btw the remote paired perfectly to Apple Home and shared no problem to HA

Air quality sensor worked great as well
