I had to reinstall firmware after HA Voice PE bricked during an attempted update. Firmware is updated, I did a hard reset of the device, I also removed the ESPHome integration as part of my troubleshooting. When following these instructions: https://support.nabucasa.com/hc/en-us/articles/25918770371229-Getting-started-with-Home-Assistant-Voice-Preview-Edition I get through step 6 but the wizard doesn't launch for step 7. I now have this screen where there are no devices associated with ESPHome.

is your HA up to date?
what method did you use to reinstall the firmware?
you could try to add a device to esphome and manually input the local ip address off the device.
Good point, HA version is a bit old (2025.5.3). Voice PE update method was the web page installer (https://esphome.github.io/home-assistant-voice-pe/) . I found the local ip of it and tried adding. The port number was prefilled (6053). I got the attached popup. I click close (close button not "X") and I'm just back to the ESPHome page with the option to add a device.
Install firmware on Home Assistant Voice PE.
PS: when I got to the devices tab and search for "voice" there are no results.
you should definitely start by updating. your HA.
Thanks, doing that now :).
Update done. Now, when I try adding the device I get this error, which I don't think is an issue given that I've never touched that and the device was up and running previously. Also not sure where to find the devices YAML :). I did delete ESPHome again hoping that when I click add from discovered it would work. But then I'm just back to where I was before (no device within ESPHome). I'm thinking next steps are to delete ESPHome again, hard reset VoicePE again, restart HA then hope that the wizard works now that HA is updated. What do you think?
i would delete everything then probably do another firmware reinstall to ensure a reset and a clean firmware install.
OK, thank you. I'll get into that again later and follow up here either way. Thanks again.
good luck 🙂
as far as deleting everything, I assume that's just ESPHome. I don't get anything else when I search voice in devices. Is there anywhere else I should look?
yeah i mean the device in the esphome integration.
both esphome and in home assistant, and flash with original firmware, then add it back to home assistant after (without adopting in esphome)
@manic dock flashing with older firmware is a good call. I did that and I got a bit further in the process. It still unlimatly failed. I'm going to try again however I can't figure out now how to remove HA Voice device. I'm looking at it's detail page where it has the MAC address and hsowing the firmware version, but it's "unavalible." I want to remove the device before I factory reset and reinstall older firmware, I just can't find the "remove" option.
PS: I see where I can disable it. But no remove/forget.
PPS: oh, I guess I just remove it from ESPHome. I guess I'm confused about the relationship between ESPHome and the device itself.
