tbh, its probably easier to replace the light with something that's easier to connect.
I have 10 of them ๐
Could I replace it with an ESP32 or similar?
not on topic, but since you just purchased them could you just try to return them lol
I imagine its doable. you would probably want to start with a full reverse engineer of the circuit and find out what is what.
I've had them for nearly 2 months at this point and they are from Ali express. Problem is they work on Tuya app with Bluetooth on my phone.
But that's no use when I'm not in the house for others
Been a while since I had to do anything like that but best brush off my college skills
probably worth checking out the ESPHome discord too as people there probably know more about this type of thing - https://discord.gg/Ea4ycx86
For future purchases, avoid Tuya if you can and check Home Assistant compatibility before buying. I do it everytime I need something new ๐
I saw the works with Alexa and Tuya and thought it would work like other Tuya stuff. Didn't realise it was Bluetooth only. No WiFi and needs my phone to act as the brooker
it saying "Tuya" is a reason to not buy it tbh ๐
Yeah since then I have been moving over to ZigBee. But I can't afford 10 ZigBee downlights in one go and was fitting a new ceiling that needed lights straight away
