Hi Folks, I know that there's no real shortage of devices and where there is a will there is a way. My system is still pretty new. I've been doing a lot of research regarding alarm keypads for use with HA and the alarmo plugin. General consensus online is that the Amazon Ring Keypad 2 is one of the best to use. I don't trust Amazon and I don't particularly want to support them either.

Is there any way for the Ring keypad to phone home? Is it possible for the keypad to communicate with Amazon via the sidewalk network, zwave, etc, or is this a 100% local device.

If Amazon releases some kind of hostile firmware update is there any chance they can reduce functionality or remotely deprecate the device in the future? On the other hand, if there are good security updates will they just show up in HA like all my sensors do?
When searching for alternatives, I found a few threads on the forums talking about keypads, but most of the hardware posted was no longer available. I faced a real lack of visible options. The develco/frient keypad looks good, but it looks like it is Europe exclusive.
Are there any common keypads people use beyond the Amazon Ring one?
