Caching of tts files

Hey all, can anyone explain to me under which circumstances HA caches tts messages to /homeassistant/tts? I've noticed some strange behavior here that I can't explain. E.g. if you remove a file from the folder that SHOULD be cached, the announcement does not play any more. If you then set cache:false, it works again, but if you set it back to cache:trueit still works, but no file is created.

don't delete the files yourself, call the clear action instead.
