I'm reading the instructions online about adding homekit devices to homeassistant, but there doesn't seem to be any information about how to deal with devices that are already added to an Apple Home; I've set up the Homekit Bridge, and I can see items in Apple Home. When I try to add items via Homekit Device, it says that there are no devices to add. Any pointers would be welcome.

You'll normally need to remove a device from Apple Home first, sometimes (not always, especially not if it's a Thread device, though that can be complex..) factory resetting it first. I also think it uses Bluetooth LE for initial device discovery, so your device shouldn't be super far away from your Home Assistant device with Bluetooth.
