Reolink Battery Question

Hey! Supernoob here 🙂
I'm building out my HA step by step and of course a clever doorbell is the next step. I'm eyeballing the Reolink Smart 2K Dual-Band Wi-Fi Battery Doorbell https://reolink.com/nl/product/reolink-doorbell-battery/ but I'm not 100% certain that this one is also definitely working together with HA because this specific name is not on the list https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/reolink/#tested-models. What would be the safest way for me to verify that it works? 🙂

best and reliable option is to look for a wired doorbell, e.g. powered by PoE. Reolink is a good option and they have good products. Be aware that 2-way audio is not natively supported in home assistant in general.

most sensors do work with battery models only if using the hub/nvr

battery devices in general do not necessarily integrate well directly. but I think if you also have a reolink NVR you can integrate it via that. the issue is mostly because of power conservation. with the reolink nvr. they have a optimised low power usage setup then the nvr can handle talking to other stuff.

I would recommend you go for a powered device instead.
