I think it was mentioned in either the livestream or the afterparty that its best to have it vertical (including upside-down) but its less of an impact to the zbt than it is to the zwa.
I would try and get vertical if you can.

this style of antenna tends to have a stronger signal to the sides and weaker signal above and below. whether it actually matters for your particular installation depends on the structure of your house and where your zigbee devices are.
