Does orientation of ZBT-2 & ZWA-2 affect performance? i.e. If I hang it upside down, will it work the same? I have a 12U rack mounted near the ceiling, that my Server which runs Home Assistant is installed in. It is 2 close to ceilingt t put them on top, so I am wondering if I can mount them to the bottom. Thoughts and insight will be appreciated.

There is a slight difference, but it is okay to mount them upside down.
But mounting them inside a rack is likely the worse impact.
May I ask, roughly what does the radiation pattern of the ZBT-2 look like?
I'm no expert, but I would expect it to be lower beneath the ZBT-2 due to the ground plane.
I would imagine its roughly donut
Thanks for that. I found the Aboosty website but a search on that part number came up empty. BTW, where did you get this doc from?
If the FCC website wasn't broken, you could see the radiation patterns from their FCC application. Here's the ZWA-2.
warp bubble
I wonder if it's better on the first floor or second floor? I tend to think that "higher is better", but perhaps that's not the case
I managed to find something (see below). My take is that while it has a good donut shape with the zbt-2 base at the center of the donut and the antenna running through the donut hole, the PCB ground plane fills the hole by pushing radiation upwards as well as downwards through the hole with the upwards side somewhat stronger than the downside. https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=8683923
