I have Alexa speakers and overall I like them. That was until I started getting into Home Assistant. Now I am starting to hate how it works (or doesnt) with HA. It seems to be broken more than it's working. Is the google Nest speaker part better as far as HA goes? I have no experience with Google as a smart speaker so I have nothing to go on there. I have used Amazon since the get go, but now I am seeing the pitfalls and the woman is always listening. So I would like to know if it's worth it start getting into Google, or if it's the same issues with a different name.
Is there another alternative I am not aware of? I would like to keep the ability to play music everywhere, or in specific rooms, I love the triggers I have setup in Amazon, not sure if google does those things. I would like all this work in HA, as well as the general stuff just talking to the speaker since my wife is not a techy person and should be unhappy if she had to use the HA dashboard to do everything. And I do not want that either.
