Hello! I was hoping to get some opinions on what to get for HA automation!
I'd like to have a higher headroom than green offers as I plan to try and run additional software off the pc :)

Been seeing stuff like the GMKtec Mini PC N150, TRIGKEY Key Mini N150, N150 from AOOSTAR and such on amazon.

I've been beelink's N150 cpu recommended / used by others.. but i am kinda hesitant to buy it from them as they're selling a ddr4 N150 for 260 while like the AOOSTAR one is selling basically the same thing, DDR5 and all for 160.

So wanted to get a second opinion, what other people use, etc. Open to recommendations that aren't a "mini pc" too, probably won't do a pi tho.
Thank you! :)

Beelink n150. I got mine for like 100 dollars cheaper (new) than what you’re seeing though.

I’ve seen others recommend minisforum (minisform?)

You can usually snag a Lenovo minipc on eBay for dirt cheap too

Thank you!

I was looking at minisforum earlier too but just haven't heard about them much myself.

To add to this; when my NVME drive broke down in my n100 machine from Beelink, the RMA process to get a new one was painless.

They just asked for a pic of it not being detected by my windows pc or the beelink.
I could not provide since the drive had been replaced the same day with a WD Blue (This was in my frigate.nvr machine, can't have that down!)
So they just offered to send me a new drive by the mail, without asking for the previous one.
Their support is 10/10 so far for me.
This is something to take in consideration when purchasing 'chinaware' such as those mini pcs.

You also can never be sure their windows install is chill, so always reinstall your OSes on thoses!

I also would grab something beefier than an N150 but that's me 😛

I don't like replacing my HOSTs/Servers too often, so I personally went with this Beelink, in order to have a long time before reaching it's max capacities:

Be aware that if you need Frigate it IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to use an intel chip such as an N100.
As it supports Intel Quicksync for the Video decoding/encoding
This is why I ended up with a dedicated n95 for frigate and my 6 cameras. That one also has 16gb of ram
