I built an automation that analyzes an image of my front door camera like JLo showed in in of the latest sessions.
Most of the time this works well but sometimes it seems to run on an outdated image. Any idea how to improve that? Do I need to preload the camera entity somehow?

perhaps not related but something that I have seen before:
what camera is it? and how are you integrating? some cameras have been known to have a connection limit. so if they are doing something else the stream cant be opened to take a snapshot and I guess it just returns the old one instead.

could be related. I don't know anything about the camera/integration but for example I have seen on ring cameras that record an event on motion. cant have their feed opened up until recording has finished. so you cant live watch/snapshot if an event is in progress. it could work in a similar way?

The camera sends events on ring and on motion. You mean that blocks the connection?

yeah I think they lock the camera during that process.
