Hi there might be an issue with the new firmware for the P110 Plugs, firmware is version 1.4.0 on the few i have updated the HA can no longer connect to them and i get the following error
Failed setup, will retry: Unable to communicate with the device connect: Device 192.168.4.100 responded with 403 to handshake1, deleted one to try re add it and it wont find it if i manually enter the ip, i get the following error
Connection error: Unsupported device 192.168.4.132 of type SMART.TAPOPLUG with encrypt_scheme EncryptionScheme(is_support_https=False, encrypt_type='TPAP', http_port=80, lv=2)
looks like they may have changed something with the encryption or authentication

# twin junco Hi there might be an issue with the new firmware for the P110 Plugs, firmware is...

something to try:
in the app select the plug and enable "3rd party control" (or whatever they are calling it this week). if its already on then turn it off and give it a few mins and switch it back on.

dont buy any more tplink stuff they randomly mess with this shit all the time. and one day they will likely make it not work at all. i suggest moving away from it at earliest convenience.

there's no need to panic replace at the moment but you also don't want to put any more money into their products.
