Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with the Home Assistant Companion App when using Android Auto.

I’m on the latest version of the app.
All Android Auto sensors are enabled, and the dashboard appears correctly in the car.

However, as soon as I press any action in Android Auto (light, switch, script, etc.) the Companion App instantly crashes on my phone.
The action never executes, and the app closes itself every time.

Here are some details:

Android Auto works and shows my entities

The crash happens only when I interact with an action

The app works fine on the phone and in local network

No issues with my external URL or Cloudflare

Clearing cache didn’t fix it

WebView and Play Services are up to date

It looks like an internal crash of the Companion App triggered specifically by Android Auto actions.

Is this a known bug in the latest version?
Is there any workaround or fix?

Thank you!

is there by chance a last crash tab in our logs section? Settings > companion app > troubleshooting > show and share logs. If the app was ble to save teh crash it will be in a separate tab on that page
