Now that Amazon Echo Show 5 & 8 are jailbroken, I'm very convinced that Nabu Casa should made modern clones. I hacked my Echo Show 8 with View Assist and love it! My only complaint is that the processor in the Gen 1 processor is very slow, so screen taps and refreshes are fairly laggy but still usable with patience. Having a full mic, speaker and 5/8" touch screen is amazing! If Nabu Casa sold the 8" version for say $200 USD and the 5" for $150, I'd buy several instantly. At this point my only hope is that newer gens with faster processors can be jailbroken.
