Lost Response to Motion from Ring Doorbell

For well over a year the simple automation for turning on the porch light in response to motion on my Ring doorbell has been working fine. It stopped working last week, which I believe resulted from me applying the most recent monthly system updates.

I changed the automation to recognize motion as an Event rather than Binary Sensor as it was before. This change did not make a difference. I eliminated multiple instances of HA as an authorized client device. Also did not make a difference. I'm stumped.

is the event firing but not triggering the automation or is the event not firing at all?

Event not firing. I read somewhere that the HA-Ring integration is undocumented and prone to these interruptions. It happened once before and waiting for the next core update restored the function.

so this would most likely better be asked in #1284966582375813201 as its an integration issue and not a automation issue.
I personally haven't had any ding or motion events for 3 weeks although I haven't put any effort into investigating/fixing it yet...
There's some suggestions in THIS ISSUE that boil down to removing and readding the the integration it looks like.
