Hello everyone,
we are currently using a few echo dots in different rooms to listen to music, set timers/alarms and have alert-messages from HA automations. (Occasionally we are trying to use Alexa to search for something, or convert units, but as this is not working very well we don't do it that often, so that would be a nice-to-have with the new solution)
I would really like to get rid of them and replace them with something more open that is better integrated into HA.
I am not sure where to start this journey, are there maybe some projects / repos / tutorials that are worth looking into?
The thing that I already saw is Mopidy which could be used for the music/alerts part and then use an ESPHome with Voice Assistant Integration to control it all. Are there better alternatives to that? Anyone maybe having experience with similar projects?
