I'm planning my Frigate setup and would like to understand is this a sensible approach. My main concern here is whether the network share is fast enough and responsive for Frigate.
- HA on rpi5 with Frigate add-on, USB SSD, Hailo HAT
- Another rpi5 as Samba server with USB HDD for Samba, USB SSD for the OS
- 1 Gbit wired LAN
- 5 cameras but it could grow
Any experience? Would it work just fine?
Looks like the only option to have the USB HDD locally is a bit weird setup to have Samba add-on on HA and serving through Samba locally. Would that make more sense? I would still prefer separate rpi5 as Samba if possible.
