Hello,
I want to hook up my lights to HA due to some very badly placed light switches. As we are renting this house, I can't redo the electrical wiring.
The requirements are:
-
light switch needs to keep functioning as a light switch (ideally even when there's no wifi/connection to HA)
-
if 2/3 gang, one switch should function only as a "sensor" (send an MQTT message that the switch has been flipped) so that it can control another device/light
(we have a light in the staircase that's hooked up to a single light switch on the first floor, the goal is to turn it on from the ground floor too) -
no neutral wire
-
no external cloud integration required (only MQTT or anything else that I can separate to its own VLAN, flashing ESPhome or tasmota is no issue for me)
-
220V/EU
I am in the process of going through the tasmota compatible light switches on their device list, but so far none of them are available to buy anymore.
Are there any recommended ways to go about this? I don't mind extra hardware like a zigbee hub, as long as it works reliably and fulfills the above requirements.
Any tips welcome!
