#Sonos play:5 v1, cannot get it to be recognized over wifi, only ethernet?

i got a play:5 v1 for a song, and it's being a real POS to connect. I tried the sonos s1 app without success, and also the sonos integration in HA.

I got it working in HA with music assistant over an ethernet connection but wifi is a no-go

what are my options? is there some secret SUPER factory reset i need to do?

Not as of yet, but I had a similar issue when I tried this before without success

Also, am I supposed to set it up in the Sonos S1 app and then attach that to Home Assistant?

Or should I be able to set it up in Home Assistant natively?

Ok so what ended up working was

  • uninstall Sonos and sonos s1 apps
  • restart phone
  • install just the Sonos s1 app
  • plug in the speaker to power and Ethernet
  • activate the speaker on the s1 app
  • unplug it from Ethernet, the app will freak out and prompt setup on wifi, do that

It SHOULD all work now
