Hi. My Matter is "broken." I'm technical enough to be able to confidently follow directions well... the second time because I assumed I knew what I was doing the first... 😅
It seems to have happened after a recent HA update. I'm running HA on my Mac Studio. HA is still functioning, but the Matter devices keep disappearing. I can add the devices back to the platform, but it seems like they disappear whenever I restart the server. This is frustrating...
Thankfully, I only have a handful of Matter devices. But one of them is the front door lock. Imagine my shock when my wife asks me at 12 AM why the front door is still unlocked... (because the automation can't run on a device that no longer exists?)
Are there any solutions? Troubleshooting steps?
Wrench in the spokes: I'm apparently a dummy and never configured automatic backups (even though I'm paying for Nabu Casa Cloud) after redoing my HA server a few months ago (after wiping my computer and realizing that there's an encryption key on the backups that I never wrote down the first time... SIGH)
So I can't just "revert to an old version" to fix this problem.
The front door lock is also natively added to Apple HomeKit, so I still have remote control. I just want it all to work in HA again like it's supposed to.
Oh... and my kitchen's under-cabinet lighting is all Matter. It makes me sad that those lights aren't turning on right now. 🥹
