#Need help in setting up nabu casa

Hi All,

I have been trying to debug why my nabu-casa unable to connect to my home assistant. I’m on my trial run to see whether i can do remote connection to HA.

It keep giving me this error: Not connected. Trying to reconnect.

FYI, this is my parent’s house… I subscribed to nabu-casa in my own house but do not have this error.

I have disabled my ipv6 in my HA and try to run the logger and got this:
Logger: hass_nabucasa.remote
Source: runner.py:271
First occurred: 9:25:29 PM (15 occurrences)
Last logged: 9:34:34 PM

Timeout connecting to snitun server

I would appreciate if someone can help me with this.

Have you checked your internal network is ok? Double check dns settings in router, set home assistant ipv4/6 to automatic in network settings ha, and set static ip/reservation for ha in router.

check dns, network issues are almost always dns 😛

It helped for another user to log out of nabucasa, reboot home assistant and log back in to nabucasa

aah, my bad, nabu should not need that, but i am strongly suspecting double nat issue

I thought nabu casa no need to use any port forwarding? And uses cloud instead? I thought double nat wouldnt be an issue 😅

I can remote access to my reolink using UID by their cloud even with double nat.

I checked the ha network, seems like it set it to automatic. But still have the same problem

Hi, back again. Few questions, Is double nat needed at your parents network? How is it set-up, own router behind ISP modem/router?

If no double nat is needed, set-up ISP modem/router to bridged mode. Or connect ISP router/modem to lan port 2nd router and provide a static ip to it and disable dhcp on router side.

Else make sure only 1 dhcp server is active in network and check firewall rules if needed ports are open. can you ping google.com within your HA vlan?

Best troubleshooting scenario would be to get rid of double nat if possible.

ok, sounds dns running 😉 Have you already tried to connect ISP modem to LAN port of your router instead of WAN?

So modem -> lan port of router instead of wan? Im using unify router. It might not be able to work

Can you share some specs with me? What country, what provider, what ISP modem/router and what kind of 2nd router?

How many (if any except router) devices are connected to LAN on ISPmodem/router, and are there devices connected by wifi to it?

Same for your router: how many LAN ports are connected, and are all your wifi devices connected to router?

If the only device you have connected to ISP is your own router, we're good to go and try. just @storm helm me if available.

Hello all, i got pb with remote accès. A took a plan 7.5€ /month on nabucasa, my HA is connect homeassistant cloud but in remote accès : not ready
And in my nabucasa account: Your instance is not connected to Home Assistant Cloud
Please help me to connect it.
