I have Tado X valves (Thread+Matter) and Philips Hue bulbs (zigbee). What adapters do I need to buy for my HA server?

Running here without issues, and can be powered over ethernet (PoE)

So it will live externally to my server?

Yes

It is better than buying two ZBT-1s?

#

Hmmmmm so it lives on the main LAN. Surely that makes it less secure than if it's a USB device connected to my server?

#

I suppose I can VLAN it

i guess, but i dont use vlan, so can't help with that. Would recommend a seperate IoT LAN containing devices and home assistant.

You'd need a Zigbee Coordinator and a Thread Border Router

#

SLZB-06 is a decent option, but you'd need two (one for Zigbee, one for Thread)

#

Can also consider the SLZB-MR1 (or anything in the MR series, but anything more is overkill), it's a single device with 2 radios so you could set up one for Zigbee and one for Thread

There are rumors about ZBT-2 - successor of ZBT-1 - coming out (soon).

#

In fact there are development activities clearly pointing to ZBT-2.

heh. If i had to guess, the ZBT-2 is probably going to be similar architecture to the ZWA-2 (esp32 for serial communication + some chip with 802.15.4 radio, likely silicon labs EFR32 series). Be interesting to see if they include wifi or poe support like the SLZB-06 series has, or maybe even multiple radios for concurrent zigbee+thread like the MR series.
