Hi everyone I have few devices from Ikea light bulbs and switches and some sockets all is working perfectly with Ikea hub but when I add them to HA they stop working in Ikea hub and the same if they are added to a HA they work perfect but they disappear from Ikea hub

So mine question is can they be used with both system at the same time or only added to a one system only all on Zigbee2mqtt

ok that's what I wasn't sure about so I have to stick with one system only .I definitely prefer HA just have to do more research about it. Just out off topic is 16watt constant draw from Intel NUC too much ?model NUC5i3RYH or should i buy somethink like green ?

power is fine, bit more power consumption than the green, but also far more powerfull for haos 😉 maybe even virtualize haos with ProxmoxVE..

Thank you I have HAOS and I'm happy with that well I'm still learning but I I like it I did try ProxmoxVE but I think HAOS is better specialy if I don't use the NUC for anything else

Thank yes there is loads of it I have HAOS running already and do bit of testing. Probably will have to reinstall the whole HAOS when I’m ready cos now I don’t like the way a put thinks on my dashboard and its hard to customised it also is it safe to link google hun gen 2 with HAOS as of account safety as I’m probably sharing my details with developers

So with quick look I see that there are automatic backups already set and they are stored at the same ssd m.2 as the HAOS or next option is clouds What about external hard drive I have 500gb ssd 2,5” installed in The intel Nuc can that be somehow configured for the backups to be stored there ?

Since you mentioned Nabu Casa is it worth to paid the subscription ?(I know it helps the developer which will be probably the biggest reason for me to purchase that ) but other then that does it have any extras ?

take a look at the VoicePE, a nice voice assistant for and from home assistant. You can talk to it and control your home.

If hooked up with a good speaker it will act as a mediaplayer for music too

this product is wifi, so connect it the right way according to user manual, and then you connect it with your wifi. It then will be found in HA

Yes the sub is no problem. Log out first in old install login after new ha. The switch...zigbee, wifi or what? Recommend zigbee> look for styrbar or trafri ikea products.

Yeah smart preferably zigbee Because WiFi is draining batteries too quick I was more looking for something that’s hard wired and can be used as a switch but also stays on in off position so HA will still have connections with it.

I’m in early stage off transition to a smarthome so if my wife can’t turn on the light I be evicted 🙈😂

I have 2 hdd in Nuc 128gb ssd m.2 and one ssd 2,5” 500gb
When I will be reinstalling the HAOS should I install that to larger disks ? Or the 128 will do ? What about the backups ? Larger disks would be better isn’t. ?

normally the smaller disk is good enough. You could add the bigger disk into HA as DATA disk. (Move Data Disk) system/storage.

The SSD is better as is going to be 24/7 working. Due to the space, I have 20GB, and most of it are 30 backups the system makes on a daily basis

have you made a backup before adding zha? > roll back. otherwise, if any devices added to zha > remove those. Then remove zha, reboot. start z2m

I don’t do any backups as there wasn’t any need for it had nothing to safe
I got it working somehow
The zigbee2mqqtt is working now but could start the addon it was always giving some errors . I didn’t enable the zha now

Yes I so far manage to use to get the 2 button one working to turn on and off light. When it comes to dimming I have to press. Hold let it go and repeat that few times. For the 4 button that’s pain. But as you said working perfectly with one’s hub the main problem is I can’t add the bulb to HA and use remote true hub doesn’t work like that
